Start small. A useful layout for a real note is enough.

Prepare your view

Choose a clear name and explain what the template does. Include the properties it expects and the contexts you have tested. Use Obsidian’s CSS variables so it works with different themes.

Save a draft

Create an account, then open Your views → New view. Add your HTML and CSS and screenshots. Drafts are private to your account and can be edited until submitted.

JavaScript submissions are disabled for community authors. Don’t include scripts, inline event handlers, external resources, or credentials in a template.

Submit for review

Add your display name in Profile, then save your draft with a short description and HTML template, and choose a license. Choose Submit for review to queue that saved version. The template and screenshots are locked while awaiting review, and Your views shows the submission status.

A maintainer can return your view with feedback. You can then edit and resubmit it. Submitting does not publish your view. A maintainer can approve the saved version for the publication queue; automatic GitHub pull requests and public catalog publication are still being connected.

Credit and ownership

Use your own work or material you have permission to redistribute. Credit contributors and choose a license explicitly; no license is selected for you. The current submission form accepts MIT, Apache-2.0, and BSD-3-Clause. The starter collection is available under MIT.

Review before release

The planned review path combines deterministic checks, static analysis, and a human decision. A model may assist reviewers; its output will never be treated as proof of safety. Read the security policy.
